Alice Walk would not be where it is today without the incredible team that we've built along the way. Each person on this team wears so many different hats, which has allowed us to bring a unique business model to life. We are excited to provide a glimpse into the wonderful group of people here at Alice Walk.
This is part two of the "meet our team" series. Here is part one in case you missed it! We hope you enjoy getting to know these talented people a bit more!

Dusanka - patternmaking & sewing

where did you grow up and where are you currently settled?

I was born in Southeastern Europe in a country that no longer exists and was called Yugoslavia. As a spouse of a diplomat, I've spent 15 years living in several European countries. During that time, some of my duties included attending special events such as receptions or dinners with high state representatives or royal families. Thanks to my profession I was able to make my own outfits for these events. It was very challenging and exacting. Though we had a great life there, we decided to move to the USA following the serious medical problem in the family. As a big cultural and educational center, Boston offers many opportunities to my daughters. It's great to live in a culturally diverse city like Boston.

where and what did you study in school?

Following the Textile Technician High School in Brcko, Bosnia and Herzegovina, I attended the Academy of Technical and Art Profesional Studies Belgrad, Serbia for 2 years.

what is your role at alice walk?

My role at Alice Walk includes almost every step in the production from pattern making to painting.

what's your favorite part about working at alice walk?

Working in a beautiful space with high-quality fabrics together with wonderful people is a real pleasure. I believe that the positive vibes of our studio, through our products, reach our customers, too.

what are your top two favorite silhouettes and why?

The Tailored Jacket and Midi Dress are my favorite silhouettes from AW. The clean lines and timeless style made of beautiful fabrics make them a perfect outfit.

what is one travel destination you are dying to go to?

I am fascinated by Japanese culture and life philosophy. I would love to visit that part of the world sometime.

Laura - business development

where did you grow up and where are you currently settled?

I grew up in a small town in New Jersey about 45 minutes from the city. I've lived in NYC ever since I graduated from college in 2008 - it's hard to believe it's been 12 years! I came to NYC after college with the singular goal of working at an auction house and ended up at having various roles at Christie's for about 10 years before joining AW. Emily and I lived together for about 5 years during our early New York years before she moved back home to Boston!

where and what did you study in school?

I went to Bowdoin College in Maine and studied Art History.

what is your role at alice walk?

I am responsible for business development which primarily involves finding new opportunities for Alice Walk - whether that be planning events, exploring partnerships, etc.

what's your favorite part about working at alice walk?

I love organizing events for the brand. Our events have been such a wonderful way to meet new customers and stay connected with existing ones. We've met so many incredible people on this journey!

what are your top two favorite silhouettes and why?

As a new mom, I have to admit, my style is trending more in the casual and comfortable direction these days... so I would say the AW Tees. They are so soft and comfortable and go with just about everything. They are a wardrobe staple these days. I love the classic silhouette of the Crewneck Circle Skirt Dress. I wore this dress style to my rehearsal dinner in the ivory honeycomb organza and felt so great and chic in it.

what is one travel destination you are dying to go to?

Lake Louise (Banff National Park - Alberta, Canada) - I'm so drawn to the beautiful photos I've seen of the area and would love to hike there!

 maddie - marketing and sales

where did you grow up and where are you currently settled?

I grew up in a town about 30 minutes north of Boston. I am now living in Brighton in my very own one bedroom apartment and loving it!

where and what did you study in school?

I graduated in 2018 from Fairfield University where I studied Marketing and Psychology.

what is your role at alice walk?

I am the Marketing & Sales Manager at Alice Walk. I started off as a part-time client stylist when Emily was pregnant with (funnily enough) baby Maddie. Since then, I’ve taken on more responsibility and have become a full time member of the team. My day-to-day is always changing and evolving and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

what's your favorite part about working at alice walk?

Being part of a growing brand has given me a really unique experience. It has allowed me to take on more responsibility at a young age and, in turn, be more involved in the day-to-day decision making process. It's also been so much fun getting to know our customers along the way and outfitting them for various monumental moments (brides, mother of the brides/grooms, graduations, baby showers)!

what are your top two favorite silhouettes and why?

The Alpaca Sweaters have been my go-to throughout the winter and into the spring - I've worn them on repeat. I also love the Vertical Seam Side Flare Dress. Excited to wear it in White Dots when the weather warms up!

what is one travel destination you are dying to go to?

Africa! I've never been - I would love to go on a safari and see all of the incredible wildlife and experience the African culture.
