The Trench Coat is an iconic wardrobe essential that has been worn through the ages - first designed by Thomas Burberry in 1912 to keep military personnel that were “in the trenches” protected from the wind and rain during World War I. While still maintaining the functionality of an oversized rain-resistant layering piece, the Trench Coat has since evolved into a timeless yet fashionable outerwear staple -- and loved by some of our favorite style muses over the years. We believe the Alice Walk woman is destined to have a beautiful trench coat in her closet, so we wanted to create the Alice Walk spin on this classic silhouette. For this post, our aim is to share the origins of our inspiration and how some of our favorite muses styled their trench coats!
Lauren Hutton
Less is more in both of these images. Lauren's minimalist approach makes the trench the focal point in both of these ensembles. Pictured in the first image, the coat is styled with a cinched waist and a simple stripe underneath. The second images offers more of a layered, effortless take.
Meghan Markle
Chic and sophisticated are two words that come to mind when thinking about Meghan Markle’s style. Pictured here, she is stepping out in a trench coat with an ivory tea length fitted dress and nude pumps. The combination of neutrals creates a crisp, luxe look.
Jackie Kennedy Onassis
Jackie Onassis provides the perfect inspiration for an ‘off-duty’ trench moment. In both images, she is layering essentials and adding flare with her choice of accessories. The trench can easily become an everyday staple that translates into an easy, polished look.
Audrey Hepburn
Audrey Hepburn will forever be a go-to styling guru. The crisp collar and detailing in this image emphasizes the trench as a standalone piece.

Our team is excited to offer you our take on the classic silhouette. With an updated A-line shape and an inverted back pleat that balances refinement and drama, our trench coat serves as both a staple and a statement piece. While the heavy, water-resistant Italian cotton is designed to keep you warm and dry - it also has an incredibly soft hand feel. A detachable hood is the finishing touch, using easy snaps that add a decorative element to the standing collar. Working with one of the best manufacturers in Italy, the expert craftsmanship that went into this coat makes it just as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside.
